My favorite weapon happens to belong to my 3rd favorite Marvel character ( just after Nick Fury).  The infamous Black Widow has quite a few trademark pieces to her costume.   Skin tight black jumpsuit with a zipper that goes down the front to conveniently show the necessary cleavage…. when necessary.  A belt made of explosive discs, (or just metal discs, up to you) and lastly a pair of very Iconic Gold Bracers.

There are a lot more powerful weapons within Marvel… sure.  But strength doesn’t really impress me much.  So why Black Widow’s bracers?  Pure confusion, that’s why.  I don’t care what you read on Wikipedia, or what you see in comics… I don’t think ANYONE has a real idea as to what are in these little gold cartridges… no one but Natasha.

These little cylinders have been shooting blasts known as the “Widow’s Bite”, darts, grappling hooks, smoke, sometimes what looks like bullets… i think I saw a tampon flying out of one once…  but no one even questions it! It’s beautiful.  I found it kind of funny (kind of) that even though Scarlet Johanson wore the bracers, she didn’t use them… not once.  So… even in Iron Man… no one even dared touch the subject.

But that’s not even really the allure of them to me.  The allure of them is actually quite simple.  I have no idea as to what these things can do, and that makes them even more dangerous.  Their potential is pretty much untapped.  For all we know she’s been carrying doomsday devices around her wrists for decades… I mean would you really even hold it against her?  She’s got all kinds of stuff hidden on, inside and around her that often times she doesn’t even know of.

That song irritates me so much not only am I keeping this short.. I’m not even gonna find me a pic for it.

It’s just a cool ass power.  This was tough for me, If you notice I’m 2 hours past the due date for this entry because I couldn’t decide.  And I was going to just post my 4 favorite powers but I decided against it and went with just one.   Ultimatley teleportation won.  Close runner ups were Mind Bullets (that’s telekinesis) and Shapeshifting.  I went with the travel power, because teleporters are hard to catch.

What can I say… as far as villain songs go, this one takes the cake.  Not only is Scar one badass villain, he’s also got backup singers to prove it.

It’s hard to just decide on one particular costume I like above all others so I’m going to just narrow it down to the character who’s costume(s) I love the most.  That character being Psylocke.

Pyslocke I think has had the most consistently cooler looking of costumes… Especially as a member of the X-Men.  The X-Men who’s costumes begin looking the same from one character to the next.  Yet even as a member of the X-Men Psylocke’s costumes retain her individuality.

I think what I like about Psylocke’s costumes, (more than just the tight outfit and the obvious amount of skin showing) are a lot of the unnecessary aspects of it. Specifically talking about useless straps.  I LOVE useless straps, across the arms, across the legs, draping from her sleeves doesn’t matter.  When it comes to costuming, why does function have to be so important?  I mean if your going to be a superhero, why not be flashy… Leave uniforms to the Police department!

Anyway, I think Psylocke is one of few characters who’s costume’s I’ve been a fan of no matter who draws them, what universe she’s in, what team she’s in and what time period your reading.  Go Betsy.  Your fashion sense is truly uncanny.

I hope this can be considered a love song.. cuz it was the first one that popped into my head as my favorite (which is usually the best)  I like it because it was such a cute scene, and I like the fact that Ariel spends the entire time thinking that Eric is a moron for not getting her signals.  I mean.. there are animals singing everywhere for Triton’s sake!

I just can’t help but sing along to this song.  And it make not be a love song after all, but I think it’s not only charming and fun, but super romantic, even if it’s song by a Jamaican crab.

CORSAIR

The first thing that popped into my head when I read “Classic” was Corsair.

If you were to know anything about me, you’d know that I love 2 things in this world more than myself and those two things are awesome Facial Hair, and Space Pirates… and who has two thumbs and fits both of those categories… Corsair.  Now before you go and criticize me for really liking most of my characters for pure aesthetics, there’s a lot more to this guy than an awesome 70’s porn ‘stache and a great job title.  Corsair has this awesome Harrison Ford vibe to him.  He’s got this cool, calm rugged charm to him.  He’s skilled… I mean he has to be, he survived an entire intergalactic war that he randomly became apart of with no real powers to match the foes he was up against.  He’s got some sort of real fire ant whimsy…  He’s got muchness.

Other reasons to love Corsair include.  Cool Suit, the Starjammer and the Starjammers.  Hookin up with Hepzibah, and he’s got illegitimate super powered sons… The illegitimate part isn’t that cool… but you know, it’s gotta be tough to be a good parent and be a Space Pirate.  Also, has anyone else ever picked up the comparison between Corsair and Aladdin’s Dad, Cassim?

  No. No he can’t.  I love the BIG, bold, Broadway feel of this song, yet how appropriate the instruments are for the world it’s set in.  I love the lyrics I love the feel of it.  Infact I actually love evey song in Aladdin, theres not many movies I can say that about.  Second to “Friend Like Me”, would be “Prince Ali” and then “One Jump Ahead” In fact… I think the three at at a tie.. so let me go ahead and add these….

Iron Man 2 I love Iron Man (1)

but Beth posted about that one since it has some history about us along with it, and I can’t take that away with from her.  Nope.  But regardless, I actually liked the sequel more than the first.

I have always been more of an X-Men fan than anything else, and I am a HUGE fan of the 3 X-Men movies, despite the liberties taken.. 20th Century Fox…. and the backlash it got from fans.. They were awesome anyway.  And they would have been my favorite Marvel related adaptation, however.  Iron Man was made.  And I will be honest, I had never been an Iron Man fan.  I’ve liked Tony Stark… but I never really cared that much about Iron Man (that may sound crazy but if you want me to explain the difference just ask me)  But not only have these movies Delivered an AWESOME adaptation of Iron Man, but Robert Downy Jr. is the ONLY person I could ever even imagine playing Tony Stark. WIN.

Disney vs Marvel: Mick Fury by *steevinlove

Mickey is just cool.  He’s iconic, he’s sorta mischievous and he’s an all around good guy.  Really what else do you need to really decide that Mickey is the best.

Yeah thats right Lockheed the little purple dragon.  He’s cute he’s a dragon, he kicks butt and he’s got a lot of personality.  Can’t help but love him.  But can’t forget the fact that he has a long term attachment and connection to Kitty Pryde.  A connection that has earned her trust for many years… and being that she is my favorite Marvel character… I can’t help but be a bit jealous.

Not to mention a fact that the image here brings up. Lockheed being trusted has seen  details of Kitty’s life that not even the kings of perverts can come up with… super jealous.

My Little Sister Erika (littlefacederika) joined tumblr! I LOVE SHIELD.
SHIELD has standard issue flying cars.  That’s pretty bad ass.. SHIELD runs off of Hellicarriers.  Badass.   SHIELD is one of the longest running and more mysterious organizations, with history going as far back as ancient Egypt, with ties that some how lead to DaVinci… what? 

More importantly in every important Marvel event, SHIELD was there.  SHIELD is everywhere and has been apart of everything, with everyone.  Fuck SHIELD is responsible for the taking down of Godzilla!

SHIELD has also had a PLETHERA of awesome agents at it’s disposal. Including Shadowcat, Spider Woman, and Black Widow.. ( of course there is many more but those happen to be some of my favorite characters…)

I will admit, SHIELD can sort of get in the way, sometimes it can be a nuisance but SHIELD makes shit happen.

F - is for Fury by =Enymy

And then there’s Nick Fury.  I’ll be the first to admit that in reality my love or fascination to SHIELD is due largely in fact that I have a huge man crush on Nick Fury. But it’s safe to say that when you think SHIELD, you think Nick Fury.  The guy has been representing SHIELD for years, even now that he’s no longer the Director of SHIELD, he still dawns the colors and he still carries the same mindset.  A mindset that puts him behind the scenes of everything going on.  He’s cunning, and quietly brilliant… and most importantly he’s always right.

Nick Fury, is plainly just a total Badass. And he, just like SHIELD, has been around for ages…
that demands respect.

All that being said. I have to admit a particular Bias… I’ve only gone to Comic-Con dressed up twice (so far) and both times It had to be Fury.  And I have to admit that my first draw to him was his scruffy face, his assortment of pockets.. and his fucking awesome eyepatch!  Because of him I can’t stop loving the eye patch look, ((a look that looks especially hot on girls (I.E. Molotov Cocktease)). So yeah… sorry?

I didn’t even have to think about this one. As soon as I saw the question I knew my answer. He’s strong. He’s brave. He cooks. He has a seductive baritone voice. He likes children. He talks to animals. He’s sort of the bad guy’s sidekick…. but with a heart of gold that often leads him to do the right thing. And he’s voiced by the always talented and sexy, Patrick Warburton. The best sidekick out there is… Kronk!

Uncanny X-MEN by *windriderx23

I realize that other than the Avengers, the X-Men is a very typical team choice…. but how could I help it?  I mean it’s the Astonishing, Legendary, Uncanny fucking X-Men! The X-Men house some of the most popular Marvel characters to date.  Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Emma Frost, X-23, Gambit, Rogue just to name a few… Beast.  They’ve fought not only Super Villains, and unearthly beasts, but aliens, magical creatures, time travelers, other dimensions, and even bigotry and oppression.

This mutant team fight along side anyone, on any side doing what they feel is right.  They aren’t funded by government, and they aren’t selected.  They choose to fight, they train to fight, and they fund themselves.  For Love, For family, or for just plain goodness.  The X-Men to me represent all that is good in the human (or super-human) heart.

In addition, what other team really acts as a family? The X-Men combine the most eclectic and international arrangement of people and unite them with one common goal.  To live.

And even if your a mutant hater, or your an Avenger lover, there is still at least one member of the X-Men you just can’t help but love.  If it’s for their long line of Baddasses, their beautiful Collection of intelligent and powerful ladies, or… whatever the hell you’d call whatever Deadpool is…(he’s been an X-Men, what of it)  You can’t deny that the X-Men have something for everyone.

Magistrate of the Shi’ar Empire.

There has always been something odd and cool about the Shi’ar, I don’t know if it was just the fact that they were egyptian like space people, or the fact that they had “feather” hair.  Reguardless I had always felt that Lilandra never got a real shot to shine… Either she had Royal duties to attend to, or a throne to fight for, so I guess that makes it difficult to really do much else.

I also really thought it was funny that basically her and Charles had a long distance internet relationship through their brains… I have to say I’m pretty jealous of him though… He hooked up with a super hot space chick!  Am I wrong for thinking that?

The Space Marine of Star Command is the ultimate hero.  Capable of Lazer Blasts, Flight, Space Travel, and extreme Agility, his years of extensive space ranger training makes an incredible protagonist.  Buzz has his problems… years of space travel and hypersleep has left him with a crippling case of Shell Shock, making him believe that he is constantly at war… a fact that haunts him periodically through the course of his lifelong adventure as a Toy.  Despite being a crippled war hero, Buzz always has the best at heart, weither it’s to protect a galaxy or to save a Cowboy, no matter what world his brain is in, he is consistently doing what he feels is right.

Buzz is great in any mode he is in.  Especially in the forms of Glow in the Dark Buzz and Spanish Mode.  Is there really anything better that?

Clearly, there are a lot of beautiful women in the Marvel universe.  Emma Frost, Black Widow, Jean Grey… I mean it’s just the way it is.  But no matter the situation the first person that comes to mind in the matter of Marvel Sex Appeal, it’s always been Black Cat.  From the first time I saw her on the 90’s Spider-Man Cartoon show, there was something very special about this vixen that could not be ignored or forgotten.

I wasn’t originally going to post this picture of Naveen… but it’s so good how could I resist.  Naveen really stood out to me when I saw Princess and the Frog, he was charming, fun.. some sort of latino, a lot of which I see in myself… and If you were to know much about me, you’d know that I’m super conceited… At least so says my facebook.  Naveen was cool both before and after his transformation, unlike Beast who well… sometimes no one ever even remembers that there is a normal human under there… I know I sure don’t.  Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE beast. But As far as princes go, Naveen here, froggy or not, the broke prince is definitely my favorite… How could he not be?  With those Abs?!

Mr. Sinister has to be by far the most … Sinister of Marvel Villains.

Don’t let the adorable image fool you, Nathaniel Essex is no one to take lightly.  He’s a Genius, He’s Beyond Evil, He likes to mess with genes, he virtually can’t be killed, He’s mysterious, cruel,   and he’s well… Sinister.  I don’t think I’ve seen any other villain more feared, and frankly, more well dressed.  Mr. Sinister is SUCH a bad ass that he even has back up plans to make sure he’s never truely dead.

As far as favorite Marvel characters are concerned my favorites have always drifted from team to team, but one thing always remained true… I LOOOVE Shadowcat.

Her power has so much potential and yet its held at bay by a (semi) naive little Jewish girl.  And yet though her stature is small, her brains, charisma and tenacity really make her a force to be reckoned with.

However, I think the reason I love her to this day is because I’ve always had a small crush on Kitty Pryde, ever since the first time I found out she existed…  Crushes on fictional characters? I think I get them a lot.
